Automatic renewals & dunning

Renewals, expiries and failed payments are handled for you. A daily sweep runs on the FS Poster cron and works through every subscription that needs attention, so a card that bounced at 3 a.m. does not become your morning problem.

What it does

• Renews wallet-funded subscriptions at period end and charges the balance.
• Marks a subscription past due when a card or PayPal payment fails, and emails the tenant.
• Retries the payment after 1, 3 and 7 days, then cancels if it still fails.
• Keeps the tenant's access open during a 14-day grace period so a fixed card causes no interruption.
• Applies cancellations the tenant scheduled for the end of the period.
• Clears checkouts that were started but never completed after 24 hours.
• Sends expiring-soon reminders a set number of days ahead for trials and manually assigned plans.

How it works

Card and PayPal renewals are performed by the gateway itself; the sweep reacts to the outcome that arrives by webhook. Wallet renewals are performed by the add-on. Each step writes to the ledger and fires its lifecycle email, so tenants are told what happened and what to do. Dunning never suspends the tenant account: an expired subscription drops the tenant to the fallback plan and shows the paywall, and their data stays in place until you decide otherwise.
