WooCommerce ships with a cart, a checkout and an order list. Everything else that happens around an order, from the social post that brings the shopper in to the invoice that goes out after payment, is manual until you automate it. This list covers 28 of those jobs, one plugin per job. Social posting, email, SMS, WhatsApp and push messages, cart recovery, reviews, loyalty, affiliates, upsells, support, order statuses, invoices, shipping labels, tracking, returns, fraud checks, pricing, coupons, bulk edits, inventory, back-in-stock alerts, supplier feeds, ad feeds, AI product copy, subscriptions and cross-app workflows.
Each entry has the same facts box: what it automates, the starting price, whether a free version exists, the rating with the review count, and the install or sales count. Prices were read on the vendors' own pricing pages on 22 October 2026, and WordPress.org numbers come from the plugin directory on the same day. Where a vendor shows a first-year discount, the renewal price is listed next to it. Then come a short description and the three things each plugin does on its own once it is set up.
How the picks were made: for every category we looked for the plugin with the strongest combination of install base, rating volume, update frequency and a real free tier or trial. Where two options were close, the one that keeps data inside WordPress won. FS Poster is our plugin and sits in the social media category. The rest are independent products we have no relationship with.

Best WooCommerce marketing automation plugins
These plugins talk to customers for you: on social networks, by email, SMS, WhatsApp and browser push, and when a cart is left behind or an order deserves a review request.
1. Social media automation: FS Poster
FS Poster is our own plugin, so read this entry knowing that. It publishes WooCommerce products and posts to 26 social networks, including Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok and Telegram. When a product goes live, it is shared with a per-network message template that can pull the title, price and link. Category schedules and repost intervals keep older products circulating, and an insights tab counts the clicks each network sends back.

- Schedules and reposting. Category-based schedules with fixed times, intervals and repeat rules keep products circulating without manual posting.
- Click tracking. The insights tab reports clicks from shared posts daily, monthly and yearly, so you can see which networks send store traffic.
2. Email automation: FunnelKit Automations
FunnelKit Automations, formerly Autonami, is a marketing automation engine that runs inside WordPress. Workflows start from WooCommerce triggers such as order created, status changed or cart abandoned, then chain delays, conditions, emails, tags and webhooks. The free version covers cart recovery and post-purchase follow-ups with a visual email builder. Pro adds lists, segments, broadcasts and SMS steps, and reports revenue per automation.

What you can automate
- Event-driven workflows. Trigger on order, cart, product, review or customer events and branch with conditions like order total or product category.
- Email and SMS in one flow. Mix email steps with SMS steps, delays and goals, then measure revenue per workflow.
- Pre-built recipes. Welcome series, win-back, post-purchase upsell and cart recovery templates can be imported and edited.
3. CRM and customer segmentation: FluentCRM
FluentCRM is a self-hosted CRM and email tool with a deep WooCommerce integration. Every customer gets a profile with purchase history, lifetime value and tags, and smart segments update themselves from rules like bought product X or no order in 90 days. Automation funnels start from store events and can tag, email, wait or split contacts. Campaigns send through your own SMTP or API mailer, so there is no per-contact fee.

- Lifecycle funnels. Welcome, first purchase, repeat purchase and win-back funnels with conditional branches and goals.
- Self-hosted sending. Campaigns go out through your own SMTP or email API, with per-campaign open, click and revenue reports.
4. SMS order notifications: WooCommerce Twilio SMS Notifications
WooCommerce Twilio SMS Notifications is the official SMS extension on WooCommerce.com, built by SkyVerge. It texts the customer when an order enters a status you select, with a separate template per status, and can alert admins on new orders. Customers opt in at checkout, and every message with its delivery result is logged in the order notes. You need a Twilio account, and Twilio bills the messages separately. Three reviews is a thin record, so judge it on the feature list.

- Starting price
- $49/yr, plus Twilio message fees
- Free version
- No
- Rating

What you can automate
- Status-based texts. Processing, completed, shipped or any custom status can trigger its own SMS template with order placeholders.
- Checkout opt-in. A checkbox at checkout records consent, and customers can be texted only when they tick it.
- Delivery log. Every SMS, its content and the Twilio delivery status are written to the order notes.
5. WhatsApp notifications: Notiqoo
Notiqoo, formerly WC Messaging, connects WooCommerce to the official WhatsApp Business and Cloud APIs, which keeps accounts safe from bans. Order confirmations, status updates and payment notices go out as approved templates, and abandoned carts can get a WhatsApp reminder. A chat inbox in wp-admin lets your team answer replies next to the order. Setup needs a Meta business account and template approval.

- Pro from $59/yr
- Free version
- Yes, on WordPress.org
- Rating

What you can automate
- Official API templates. Order placed, processing, shipped and refunded messages use approved WhatsApp templates with order variables.
- Cart reminders on WhatsApp. Abandoned checkouts can get a timed WhatsApp nudge instead of, or in addition to, an email.
- Admin inbox. Customer replies land in a chat screen inside wp-admin, with the order context next to the conversation.
6. Web push automation: PushEngage
PushEngage sends browser push notifications, so it reaches shoppers who never left an email address. The WordPress plugin links your store to the hosted service, where the WooCommerce automations run: a three-step cart abandonment sequence, browse abandonment, price drop and back-in-stock alerts. Segments come from pages and products viewed. The free plan is capped by subscribers and campaigns, and Business removes the branding.

- Free version
- Yes, free plan plus a WordPress.org plugin
- Rating

What you can automate
- Cart abandonment pushes. A three-step sequence with editable timing and copy, triggered when a cart is left behind.
- Price drop and restock alerts. Subscribers who viewed a product get a push when it gets cheaper or comes back in stock.
- Browse-based segments. Target by pages and categories visited, with scheduled or triggered campaigns.
7. Abandoned cart recovery: Cart Abandonment Recovery for WooCommerce
Cart Abandonment Recovery for WooCommerce comes from the CartFlows team and is completely free. It captures the email as soon as a shopper types it at checkout and marks the cart abandoned after a set time. A sequence of three emails follows, each with its own delay, a unique expiring coupon and a one-click restore link. A reports screen shows abandoned, recovered and lost revenue, and a webhook can push carts to a CRM.

- Starting price

- Rating
- 4.8 on WordPress.org, 620 reviews

What you can automate
- Automatic email sequence. Three timed follow-ups with placeholders for cart contents, customer name and a one-click restore link.
- Coupon generation. Each email can create a unique, expiring coupon, so discounts are not reused after the campaign.
- Recovery reports. Abandoned, recovered and lost order values with a date filter, plus a webhook for external tools.
8. Review requests: Customer Reviews for WooCommerce
Customer Reviews for WooCommerce, often called CusRev, automates the asking. After an order is completed it waits the number of days you set, then emails a reminder with one aggregated form for all purchased products. Reviews can include photos and videos, a coupon can be sent automatically after submission, and a Q&A block answers questions on product pages. The free version covers all of that. Professional adds branding removal and email support.

- Rich reviews and feeds. Photo and video reviews, Q&A on product pages and an XML feed for Google Shopping reviews.
9. Loyalty and rewards: WPLoyalty
WPLoyalty runs a points and rewards program without a third-party service. Customers earn points for purchases, sign-ups, reviews, referrals and birthdays under rules you set, and redeem them as coupons at checkout. Tiers raise earning rates as customers spend more, and campaigns can double points for a category or date range. The referral module rewards both sides when the friend's first order completes.

Commissions can be flat, percentage, tiered, recurring or lifetime per customer. There is no free version, and the first-year price renews at the regular rate.

11. Upsells and order bumps: FunnelKit Funnel Builder
FunnelKit Funnel Builder replaces the stock checkout with pages you can shape and test, and the offers are where the automation lives. An order bump appears at checkout when cart contents or totals match your rules. After payment, a one-click upsell adds another product to the same order, with a downsell when it is declined. The free version includes the checkout builder and templates. Pro adds bumps, upsells and A/B testing.

Best WooCommerce order and fulfillment automation plugins
Once an order exists, these plugins move it: statuses, documents, labels, tracking, returns and the screening that keeps fraudulent orders out of the queue.
13. Order status workflows: Order Workflows
Order Workflows is a WooCommerce.com extension for stores whose fulfillment has more steps than the default statuses. You define custom statuses and the allowed transitions, and rules assign the first status from the payment method, order total or shipping method. Each status can send its own email, next-step buttons keep staff on the defined path, and every transition is logged. It requires WooCommerce 9.0 or newer and has no reviews yet on WooCommerce.com.

14. Invoices and documents: PDF Invoices & Packing Slips for WooCommerce

FedEx Shipping Plugin for WooCommerce with Print Label by PluginHive connects the store directly to the FedEx API. Live rates show at checkout from box packing rules, and a label is generated automatically when an order is placed or reaches a status you pick. Add a tracking number by hand, by CSV or from a fulfillment integration, and the customer gets a tracking link in the order email and on My Account, with more than 1,000 carriers supported. AST Pro adds fulfillment screens and per-item tracking. The real automation is TrackShip, Zorem's hosted service, which updates the order status from in transit to delivered and notifies the customer at each stage.

18. Fraud screening: WooCommerce Anti-Fraud
WooCommerce Anti-Fraud, sold on WooCommerce.com, scores every order against weighted rules: IP versus billing country, mismatched addresses, proxy or VPN use, free email domains and unusual order sizes. Above a threshold the order is held or cancelled automatically, and blocked customers see a message you write. Blacklists cover emails, IPs and shipping regions, and checks run in the background. It has no public rating on its listing, so test it on staging first.

19. Dynamic pricing and scheduled sales: Discount Rules for WooCommerce

Bulk and tiered discounts, targeted by product, category, attribute or SKU, run between a start and end date, so a seasonal sale starts and stops on its own. 20. Coupon automation: Advanced Coupons for WooCommerce
Advanced Coupons for WooCommerce extends the built-in coupon system with conditions and triggers. Cart conditions check subtotal, products, customer role or a previous order before a coupon applies, and the free version already includes BOGO, URL coupons and store credit. Premium adds auto-apply, so a qualifying cart gets the discount without a code, and a scheduler that activates and expires coupons on dates. The rating is a little lower than others here, mostly over admin upsell prompts.

Inline edits update prices, stock and attributes without opening each product, and batch updates change a filtered set in one go. The emails use the WooCommerce email system, and subscribers are stored in their own table with export. Premium add-ons are one-time purchases with lifetime updates.

WP All Import maps any XML, CSV, Excel or Google Sheets file to WordPress fields by drag and drop, and the WooCommerce package does the same for products, variations and images. The automation is scheduling: an import can point at a supplier URL or FTP and run on a cron, updating only the fields you choose and marking products missing from the feed as out of stock. AI Engine by Meow Apps connects WordPress to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral and other providers with your own API keys. For a store, Pro generates product descriptions, short descriptions and SEO fields from the title and attributes, and can run that in bulk across a catalog. The same plugin provides a chatbot trained on your content and an MCP server that lets AI agents manage WooCommerce data under your control. Costs are the licence plus the provider's token fees.

What you can automate
- Bulk product copy. Generate descriptions, excerpts and SEO fields for many products at once, then review before publishing.
- Bring your own model. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and others through one settings screen, with per-feature model choice.
- Agent access to WooCommerce. The MCP server exposes store functions to AI agents, so routine catalog tasks can be delegated.
27. Subscriptions and recurring billing: WooCommerce Subscriptions
WooCommerce Subscriptions is the official extension for recurring products. It charges customers automatically on any cycle through gateways with stored payments, with free trials, sign-up fees and synchronised renewal dates built in. Failed payments enter a retry schedule with emails at each attempt, and subscribers can switch, pause or cancel from My Account. It is the most expensive licence on this page and the reference that other subscription tools test against.

What you can automate
- Automatic renewals. Recurring charges on any cycle through supported gateways, with renewal orders created in WooCommerce.
- Failed payment recovery. A retry schedule with customer emails runs on its own when a renewal payment fails.
- Self-service changes. Customers switch plans, pause or cancel from My Account, with proration rules you control.
28. Cross-app workflows: Uncanny Automator
Uncanny Automator is the general-purpose workflow engine for WordPress. A recipe starts from WooCommerce triggers such as order completed, product purchased or review submitted, then runs actions in other plugins or apps: a Google Sheets row, a Slack message, a Mailchimp contact, a course enrolment or a webhook. Delays, schedules and loops are in Pro, and webhooks work in both directions. If a job on this list has no dedicated plugin, this is where you build it.

What you can automate
- WooCommerce triggers. Orders, products, reviews, statuses and customer events start recipes with conditions on the data.
- Actions in other apps. Google Sheets, Slack, email tools, CRMs and LMS plugins receive the order data without custom code.
- Webhooks and delays. Send and receive webhooks, schedule actions and loop over items for multi-step automations.
How to choose a WooCommerce automation plugin
Do not install all 28. Pick the three jobs that cost you the most hours or the most lost sales this month, and automate those first. For most small stores that is cart recovery, review requests and social posting, because all three run with no daily input and show up in revenue within weeks. Add invoices and tracking next if support emails are about orders rather than products. Pricing rules, feeds and inventory tools pay off once the catalog is large enough that manual edits take an afternoon. Keep an eye on overlap: FunnelKit Automations, FluentCRM and PushEngage can all send cart reminders, so decide which one owns that message before you switch it on in two places.
Check the renewal price, not the launch price. Several vendors here show a first-year discount of 50 percent and renew at the regular rate, and the facts boxes list both. Hosted services such as Tidio, PushEngage and TrackShip bill by usage, which can be cheaper than a licence at low volume and more expensive at scale.
WooCommerce automation plugins FAQ
What is a WooCommerce automation plugin?
Any plugin that performs a store task on a trigger or a schedule without someone clicking. The trigger can be an order event, a stock change, a date or an action in another app. The task can be a message, a document, a price change, a status update or a data sync.
Can WooCommerce automate tasks without plugins?
A little. Core WooCommerce sends order emails, applies coupons you create by hand and can schedule a sale price per product. It has no workflow builder, no cart recovery, no document generation and no messaging beyond email, which is what the plugins on this list add.
Which of these plugins are free?
Twenty of the 28 have a free version on WordPress.org or a free plan. Cart Abandonment Recovery for WooCommerce has no paid tier at all. The paid-only entries are FS Poster, the Twilio SMS extension, AffiliateWP, Order Workflows, the PluginHive FedEx plugin, WooCommerce Anti-Fraud and WooCommerce Subscriptions.
Do I need AutomateWoo if I use these?
AutomateWoo is a capable workflow tool from WooCommerce.com, and it was close to the email pick. FunnelKit Automations won on the free tier and the visual builder. If you already own AutomateWoo, it covers the email, SMS and cart recovery jobs on this list.
Will many automation plugins slow the store down?
Most of these run their work in the background through WordPress cron or an external service, so the checkout is not affected. The risk is overlap rather than load: two plugins sending the same cart reminder. Give each message one owner and disable the duplicate.
